The Weeknd Takes His Fiery 2020 American Music Awards Performance Outside

The Weeknd gave fans a fiery performance during the 2020 American Music Awards and he took it outside to the street with Kenny G.

Dressed in a red blazer, black pants and tuxedo shoes (and face fully wrapped in bandages), the superstar and famous saxophonist performed "In Your Eyes" as The Weeknd walked down a street lit up with fireworks. He then continued on to sing "Save Your Tears" for the first time.

The Weeknd was nominated for eight American Music Awards this year, and took home the award for Favorite Album – Soul/R&B for this latest album After Hours, early on in the night. In his acceptance speech, he dedicated the win to Prince, as the late icon had presented him with the same award back in 2015. He said:

"Last time I received this award, it was given to me by the late, great Prince, and he's the reason I get to constantly challenge the genre of R&B, and I'd like to dedicate this award to him."

The Weeknd is set to perform as the headliner during the upcoming 2021 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. In a statement, he said of the upcoming performance, "We all grow up watching the world's biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position. I'm humbled, honored and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage this year."

The star was also recently added to the 2020 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball presented by Capital One lineup. Fans can tune in to watch the annual show on Thursday, December 10th at 9pm ET/6pm PT on The CW App and CWTV.com, as well as listen across 95 iHeartMedia CHR radio stations nationwide and the iHeartRadio App. The CW will also broadcast the event as an exclusive TV special on Monday, December 14th at 8pm ET/PT.
