Generation X now ranges in age from 45 to 61 — and a new study found that about a third of these fully formed adults still rely on mom and dad for cash. Because Americans are living longer, adult children are waiting longer to receive their inheritance, which is causing middle-aged adults to look to their parents for economic support and help pay for mortgages, groceries, and phone bills.
