Rapper Tame One, who came up in the rap game in groups like Artifacts and The Weathermen, has passed away at 52.

On Sunday night, November 6, the mother of Tame One, born Rahem Brown, confirmed his death in an emotional social media post. Darlene Brown Harris took to Facebook to express herself after she found out that her son had died. In the post, the late rapper's mom provided details she received from the medical examiner about Tame One's death. He reportedly passed away after his heart gave out due to a mixture of prescription drugs.

"I cant express this any other way. My son, Rahem Brown, Tamer Dizzle Is Dead," his mom wrote. "He had invested the six pharmaceutical drugs that Trinitas hospital prescribed to him last Friday, but combined with the weed he smoked over this weekend...his heart simply gave out. We will know better after the autopsy."

Tame One hailed from Newark, New Jersey and was the first cousin of rapper Redman. He got his start in the music industry alongside El Da Sensai when they joined forces to form rap duo Artifacts. They released their debut album Between a Rock and a Hard Place in 1994 and followed-up with That's Them in 1997 before they disbanded. They eventually reunited on each other's solo albums before they formally released their first project in 25 years No Expiration Date with Buckwild back in August. El Da Sensai commemorated Tame and their turntablist DJ Kaos, who passed away in 2019.

As a solo artist, Tame One dropped six solo albums, three mixtapes, and three collaborative efforts with Cage as Leak Bros, Del The Funky Homosapien, and Dro Pesci & Nick Jackson. In 1998, Tamer Dizzle went on to form supergroup The Weathermen with Cage Kennylz, Masai Bey, Aesop Rock, Yak Ballz, El-P, Jakki Tha Motamouth, Vast Aire and Breeze Brewin. They released one album The Conspiracy in 2003.

Once the news broke, numerous veteran MC's took to social media to pay homage to the late rapper. Rah Digga, his Weathermen partner El-P, DJ Premier and more eulogized Tame One with dope dedications to his music career and his dedication to the art of graffiti. See what they had to say below.

Rest in peace, Tame One.
