As the hip-hop world continues to mourn the sudden loss of Rich Homie Quan, both his father and his girlfriend have broken their silence on the rapper's tragic death.
According to HipHopPDX, Rich Homie Quan's father, Corey Lamar, shared a statement to the Atlanta-born rapper's management page on Instagram on Saturday (September 7) asking for prayers for his family as he deals with the "unbearable" loss of his "best friend."
"Unbearable pain. Lord please please please help me to understand this," Lamar wrote. "To lose my son (my 1st born, my best friend. Lord please let this be a dream.... Yall pray for me and my family. I feel like I'm crushed into a million pieces 💔💔💔😢😢😢"
Amber Williams, the rapper's girlfriend, also shared a heartbreaking message on her Instagram Stories saying she will "never be the same" after the death of her "other half."
"The pain is unbearable. The love you all have show is an over flow. I truly appreciate everyone who's reached out. I'm traumatized from a moment that'll forever be in my head. I have nothing to prove because my love for my other half was ALWAYS shown. I had nothing to hide. Please respect me and the family at this time."
She continued, "Our house is no longer a home. I'm completely heartbroken 💔 15 years gone. I'll never be the same. This is a complete nightmare. We never could let go, but you didn't have to leave me like this. #Numb"
TMZ reported on Thursday (September 5) that the "Ride Out" rapper, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, died in Atlanta at the age of 33. Williams reportedly found him unresponsive on a couch in their home and called 911 to report that he wasn't breathing and didn't appear to have a heartbeat. His cause of death was not immediately revealed, according to Page Six, and an autopsy was done on Friday in an attempt to get some answers about the sudden loss.
