Ketchup is a popular condiment enjoyed around the world every single day, and sometimes multiple times a day.
The beloved product is a household name that's been adding a tangy kick to meals since 1876, but could you drink it in a smoothie?
Heinz and Smoothie King just made that question less hypothetical with the release of their latest collab, and first-of-its-kind smoothie.
That's right. A Ketchup smoothie. The "Heinz Tomato Ketchup Smoothie" to be exact.
According to a press release, the exciting new creation "blends sweet Acai sorbet, crisp apple juice, juicy strawberries, and tart raspberries with the unmistakable taste of HEINZ Simply Ketchup, which is all-natural and made with red ripe tomatoes full of vitamins and antioxidants."
Tomatoes are a fruit, after all, so why not add them to a smoothie?
Smoothie (or Ketchup) enthusiasts can get their hands on a Heinz Tomato Ketchup Smoothie "for a limited-time starting August 6 for $5.70 at select Smoothie King locations in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Denver, and Miami." Both brands are encouraging customers to share their opinions on social media with the hashtag #KetchupSmoothie.
According to Heinz, the limited time menu item "offers a deliciously refreshing way for fans to enjoy the beloved condiment â highlighting how the slightly sweet and tangy taste of HEINZ Ketchup can elevate any dish, even a cold and refreshing fruit smoothie."
